Behind the Flicka:

On Christmas Eve Raul DM’d Rosalia

after she followed him on IG. His words were quote:

“Yo huge fan lol”. We thought he blew it but not

long afterwards she replied:

“me encanto lo que tu haces.” Shortly after, she

explained that she was working on a new song with Ozuna

and so began a series of phone calls, and eventually a

meet up in the studio where we worked through our ideas.

Rosalia was incredibly collaborative, and even though the

schedule and original idea shifted

throughout production, she was always extremely professional,

collaborative and supported the vision.

Behind the Flicka:

Chloe & Chenelle introduced us to Milkman, an artist

and creative director for Balvin. At this point, we

hadn’t directed together, although had talked about

it often. Milk called us one night and said “Yo, you

wanna do a video for Balvin?” We were like hell yeah.

Milk had the original concept to shoot in NY,

focusing specifically in Spanish Harlem, paying

tribute to the OG Reggaetoneros: Yankee, Don Omar,

Wisin Y Yandel, etc. The only catch was we needed to

shoot the video 48 hours later, so we booked a red eye

to NY with Chloe & Chenelle (who styled the video) and

shot the entire thing on the fly without boards or a shot

list. Shout out to Luka our fixer!

Pasqual had just worked with Cuco on “Bossa No Se”.

On 4th of July, Doris, Cuco’s manager (and now homie)

facetimed Pasqual and was like “yoo you wanna shoot

another vid for Omar?” Pasqual was like:

“Hell yeah”. Raul came on board, and suddenly it

became a Cliqua Flicka. The only thing was we had

to shoot in 5 days, and it was the 4th of July.

We were at a party with “Puro De Agave” who is

actually Isaac Bauman a film legend, who said he’d

shoot it. The end. great film. We love Cuco.

P.S. one of the most special things about this

project was that we got to work with one of

our all-time icons FOOSGONEWILD. We actually

went to their headquarters and brainstormed

some ideas.Shout out FOOSGONEWILD!!!
